Dean is a British South Africa. He started sailing optimists and lasers at a young age and fell in love with it. After school he started working as a dive instructor and small boat captain around the world. Fast forward 15 years and he now holds his Master 3000 and has extensive experience on yachts ranging from 140ft-250ft. Dean will ensure you are anchored in the ideal location and have the best holiday possible while ensuring everybody’s safety.
Chief Engineer Jose Torres
Jose, our chief engineer, has had a long journey to get to his position on BG, from oil tankers to cruise ships, he has gained extensive knowledge in marine engineering. As an engineer his duty and aim are to ensure the correct functioning of all equipment on board and ensure the safety of the crew and guests. In his free time, he likes to go to the gym, watch soccer and UFC fights, and also enjoys reading classic novels or watching some cult movies.
Chief Stewardess
Kate Holden
Kate was born and raised in sunny Johannesburg, south Africa. She loves being in the water and pursued an ocean-based career. After working in the Scuba Diving industry and running Animal Ocean Dive Centre, Kate decided to enter the yachting industry with her husband Dean. She loves making sure all guests are having a great time and will ensure you are well looked after and everything you need is provided.
Chef Tannia Bierman
Tania was born and raised in South Africa, her passion for food started quite young as it was a family affair with two grandmothers who were incredible bakers and a grandfather who owned a butcher shop. It was only later on in life she decided to pursue her passions, and she has never looked back. Tania loves to cook wholesome and nourishing meals, that are not only delicious, but leave all the sensors appeased. Food is not just a job for Tania, it is what she loves.
Chief Officer
Craig Jerrat
Craig is our Chief Officer and is from warm Durban, South Africa and grew up near the ocean. He is cheerful positive man who gives of his best and always loved going to the ocean, so he decided why not work on it. He has been working in the yachting industry for a few years and has progressed at a reasonably good rate. In his free time, you will find him traveling, diving, hiking, surfing and in the gym.
2nd Stewardess
Jene Roodt
Hi, my name is Jené. I am a qualified makeup lecturer who discovered a passion for yachting three years ago. Now, I aim to thrive as a 2nd Stewardess onboard a superyacht. My journey from the world of makeup to the high seas has been incredible, allowing me to combine my love for beauty and luxury service. Every day on the yacht is a new adventure, and I cherish the unique experiences and opportunities this lifestyle offers.
3rd Stewardess
Cara Sanders
Cara-Leigh Sanders, is a 20-year-old 3rd stew masseuse from East London, South Africa. She loves swimming, diving, fishing, running, and working out. Family and friends are incredibly important to her. She plans on staying in yachting and slowly growing within the industry. She is a breath of fresh air and with her positive attitude she will make sure your stay on BG is memorable.
Bosun
Juan Erasmus
Juan is from Cape Town, south Africa. He has 2 year’s experience as a Bosun and enjoys fishing. His combination of love for the ocean, a positive attitude and bubbly personality will guarantee a great time will be had on the deck and in the water. He has a welcoming presence and will always leave you smiling.
Deckhand
Michael McKenna
Michael is a 20-year-old deckhand from Johannesburg, South Africa. Some of his hobbies includes surfing and Diving fueled his love for the ocean and led him to join the yachting world. He plans on staying in the yachting industry and slowly growing within it. He has joined us from Mauritius after working as a dive instructor. His love for the underwater world and positive energy will always ensure a positive day.
